Easter Bunny Bait Snack Mix Ingredients

  • Lightly salted popcorn pairs well with the sweet elements. Use homemade popcorn or a store-bought microwave bag.
  • Small, bite-size pretzels work best; if using larger pretzels, break them into smaller pieces for easy snacking.
  • Pastel M&M’s create a festive look. You can swap Cadbury Mini Eggs for a different texture and flavor if you prefer.
  • Candy coating (vanilla-flavored white coating or colored candy melts) is used to bind the mix and add sweetness.
  • Sprinkles—choose a spring-themed assortment for a colorful finish.

Tips for Making Bunny Bait with Popcorn

  • Measure all ingredients before you begin so the assembly goes quickly.
  • If using microwave popcorn, follow package directions and let the popcorn cool slightly before removing any unpopped kernels.
  • Melt candy coating in short microwave intervals, stirring between each to avoid burning. Work quickly once melted.
  • Pour the melted coating over the popcorn mixture and stir gently to coat evenly.
  • Add sprinkles immediately—once the coating starts to firm up it becomes difficult to press them in.
  • This is an easy recipe to prepare with kids—let them help mix and sprinkle.

Serving and Variation Ideas

  • Change the M&M and sprinkle colors to match different holidays—red, white and blue for patriotic events, red and green for Christmas, or any palette you like.
  • Use colored candy melts to introduce extra hues into the mix.
  • Package individual portions in small cello bags or clear containers for party favors or take-home treats.

Tools You’ll Need

  • A large mixing bowl to combine the ingredients.
  • A microwave-safe bowl for melting candy coating.
  • A large spoon or spatula for mixing.
  • A parchment-lined half sheet pan for setting the mixture and easy cleanup.
  • An airtight container for storing leftovers.

How to Store Leftover Snack Mix

Once the mix has set and cooled, break it into pieces and store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to five days.

Go on—make a bowl of Bunny Bait. It’s quick, festive, and irresistibly snackable.
