If you follow me on TikTok, you know recreating soda shop drinks is my passion.

These drinks start with a soda or energy drink, then flavored syrups transform the base into something new. Some versions are topped with orange juice, lemonade, or a sweet cold foam for extra decadence.

When I spotted a red velvet Sprite at a soda shop, I wanted to recreate it at home. The result is a refreshingly sweet, creamy soda that tastes like a dessert in a glass — perfect as an afternoon pick-me-up without heavy caffeine.

Ingredients

A bottle of red velvet cake syrup, cupcake syrup, Sprite, a can of sweetened condensed milk, as well as a carton of whole milk and heavy whipping cream all on a black background.
  • Sprite – Lemon-lime soda; 7-Up or another similar soda works fine.
  • Red Velvet Syrup – The key flavor for this drink. Use a red velvet cake syrup you like.
  • Cupcake Syrup – Adds cake-like sweetness; vanilla can substitute if needed.
  • Milk – Whole or 2% milk yields the best cold foam texture.
  • Heavy Cream – Keeps the cold foam thick and stable.
  • Sweetened Condensed Milk – Optional but recommended for creaminess and sweetness in the cold foam.

Tips

  • To amp up the cake flavor, stir a small amount of cream cheese powder into the cold foam.
  • Avoid using Sprite Zero or other no-sugar sodas; artificial sweeteners can cause dairy in the foam to separate.
  • Try other sodas for different results — a red velvet twist on a cola can be surprisingly good.
Most of the frame is taken up by a pint glass filled with a deep red bubbly soda and a thick white cold foam that's starting to bleed into the soda. A Sprite bottle is out of focus in the background.
