Are you glad it’s the weekend? I know I am. Lately I’ve been juggling so many roles — breadwinner, mom, planner — and feeling pulled in every direction.
It’s time to pause.
Give gratitude and thanks. That centered, calm perspective helps put everything in its place.
1. Beautiful weather. Warm, sunny days in the 70s with clear skies and blooming flowers and palms — exactly why I chose to live in San Diego. I made sacrifices to be here and can’t imagine living anywhere else, especially in winter.
2. Skylar. The joy, meaning, and purpose of my life. Period.
3. My new camera bag. Practical and stylish — it makes getting out with the camera easier and more fun.
4. The ability to do yoga and the gift yoga has been in my life for the past decade. It grounds me physically and mentally and has shaped how I approach daily challenges.
5. Anything with peanut sauce. I love fresh vegan spring rolls with a quick, savory peanut sauce.
6. Anything with peanut butter. Peanut Butter Chex Mix (vegan, no-bake) — essentially puppy chow — is a favorite snack.
7. Anything with chocolate. Raw vegan chocolate mousse is one indulgence I never tire of.
Tip: There are plenty of simple recipes you can adapt by swapping ingredients like bars or chocolate chips; no need to hunt down specialty items for a delicious result.
From my last post about my Valentine’s Day stash and thoughts on the holiday, it was fun to read your perspectives and learn what you’re planning for the weekend.
Questions:
1. Any plans for the weekend?
I’ll be working, spending time with Scott and Skylar, and maybe meeting up with a close friend.
2. What are you grateful for?
Gratitude can be as simple as a hot cup of coffee or a warm shower, or as deep as meaningful relationships with friends and family. I’ve written before about other things I’m grateful for and the small practices that help me remember them.
Enjoy your weekend!
