We recently moved, and for a while my kitchen was in boxes. Luckily I kept my blender accessible so I could still make quick, nourishing snacks like this shake. Medjool dates and almond butter are pantry-friendly ingredients that make this recipe especially convenient when grocery runs are limited.

I’ve made this shake many times—what I love most is the rich, satisfying creaminess the almond butter adds. Ingredients

  • 2 medjool dates
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter
  • 1 scoop no-sugar-added vanilla protein powder
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 1 1/2 cups ice

Instructions

  1. Combine the dates, almond butter, protein powder, and almond milk in a blender and blend until smooth. Add the ice gradually and blend until the ice is fully incorporated and the shake is creamy.
