Fluffy, sweet French toast sticks made fast and simple using your favorite keto bread. This reliable keto French toast sticks recipe transforms loaf bread into cinnamon-coated, golden sticks with just 1g net carb per serving (6 sticks). Perfect for a quick breakfast, snack, or thoughtful low-carb treat.

What We Love About This Recipe
- This method makes keto French toast sticks incredibly easy. Thick slices of keto loaf bread are trimmed, cut into sticks, briefly dipped in an egg-milk mixture, pan-fried in butter, and immediately coated in a cinnamon-and-keto-sweetener mix.
- The result delivers the classic French toast texture—a tender inside with a lightly crisp exterior—while keeping carbs and sugar very low.
- It’s fast: from pantry to plate in about 15 minutes, so it’s ideal for busy mornings or whenever you want a quick sweet fix.
Chef’s Tips
- Don’t soak the bread in the egg wash. Dip each stick quickly so it absorbs a little of the mixture but stays firm enough to form a crust when fried.
- Work quickly during the final steps. Pan-fry in small batches, then roll the hot sticks in the cinnamon-sweetener blend right away so the coating adheres while the bread is still warm.
- If your keto bread is very dense, increase the milk a little or use a higher-fat milk (light cream or a mix of cream and milk) to help the egg wash cling better.

Ingredients
For the Keto French Toast Sticks
- 8 slices keto bread, crusts removed
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk of choice (whole milk, heavy cream, almond milk, or low-carb milk)
- 1 large pinch salt
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, for the first batch
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, for the second batch
For the Cinnamon-“Sugar” Coating
- 6 tablespoons granular Swerve or another granular keto sweetener
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Serving Suggestions (Optional)
- Maple-flavored keto syrup for dipping
Equipment
- Sharp knife
- 2 shallow bowls
- 2 whisks
- Large skillet
- Spatula or tongs
Instructions
- Trim the crusts from the 8 slices of keto bread, then cut each slice into three equally thick sticks. Set aside.
- In a shallow bowl, crack 2 large eggs and add 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract, 1 cup milk of choice, and a large pinch of salt. Whisk until fully combined and slightly frothy.
- In a second shallow bowl, combine 6 tablespoons granular sweetener and 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon. Whisk together and set aside.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons unsalted butter. When the butter is melted and hot, you’re ready to cook.
- Working quickly, dip a few breadsticks at a time into the egg mixture—just long enough to coat, not so long they become soggy. Shake off excess and place them in the hot skillet. Cook in two batches to avoid crowding.
- Pan-fry the breadsticks for about 2 minutes on the first side, then flip and cook another 2 minutes until both sides are golden and lightly crisped.
- Immediately transfer the hot sticks to the cinnamon-sweetener bowl and roll them until evenly coated. The coating adheres best while the bread is still warm.
- Add the remaining 1 tablespoon butter to the skillet, let it melt, and cook the remaining breadsticks the same way.
- Serve warm. Offer maple-flavored keto syrup for dipping if desired.
